So my surgery went very well and I'm so relieved that it's over. Jon ended up taking my mom under his wing while I was in bed for 2 full days and she knows more than she ever needs about beer. As for me... I've lost most of my taste in the real fancy shmancy beers and now I'm into liquor and sake. A little pre-game before the 21st never hurt anyone. Besides, my inner child makes me want to be a bartender and create crazy cocktails of every flavor I can imagine in my spare time... but when school starts that dream will die quickly lol. Currently: cranberry juice, pucker sour apple, and vodka = very tashty.
I had -the- BEST dinner I had in a VERY long time last night (last time was the anonymous restaurant in Sedona). Jon's friend Mark took us out to his restaurant, the Canal, where he's the Sous Chef and treated me to the BEST and very worthy $15 grilled cheese sandwich I have ever ingested. It was fantastic, as was the other dishes that we picked up. But my favorite part was how utterly gorgeous the restaurant was. It made me dream of what I could design when I get out of school. In the center of the restaurant was a lit up runway, where they have fashion shows, and the entire back wall was filled with large screens, the middle 3 showing a random montage of fashion and the outer 2 playing a random movie (this time it was Zoolander) without sound. We sat in the VIP booths right next to where famous Suns players and other athletes chill. The tables even lift up so the gigantic athletes can sit comfortably in the booths! Fucking crazy. The entire place was done up in industrial chic scottsdale style, exposed brick and material mingling with circling curtains and leather. But seriously, if you want something fantastic, go there and your belly will be happy lol.
School starts on Monday ( i think ) and I'm sorta worried. It's gonna be fucking intense.... Their last chance to scare kids before they apply to upper division. I think we have to design a cemetery this year... which is odd. But whatever. I'll have to travel around and look at a bunch of cemeteries. I've already finished 7 books this winter... I hope to finish one more before I jump back into the fray of things. Better get started
I'm out!
