I went to the library to get a reserve copy of a book I need for class. It was 3:00, and the book was checked out until 4:15 (reserves have 2 hour loan periods). Apparently there's no wait list for these. They told me to check back every fifteen minutes or so until it came back.
I went over to the study area and tried, without success, to get on the extraordinarily flaky UMass wireless internet for fifteen minutes. When I came back, the book was checked out until 5:18.
This pissed me off to no end. Apparently there's basically no way to actually get a high-demand reserve book except by being lucky enough to be there when it's dropped off.
