Poetry tags explained

Jul 25, 2010 09:59

So, I've decided to post my poetry. I'm planning on tagging all of it for my easy access, and I suppose for your easy acess as well (if anyone actually reads/wants to read my stuff). The thing that inspired me to actually use the tag feature on LJ effectively was the way the tags were done on the_slash_pile. (The_slash_pile is an original slash fiction recommendation community. There are no fanfiction recs allowed, and it is also very well organized, which is saying something. If you want to find good original slash, the_slash_pile is most definitely worth bookmarking, or at least checking out!)

The ways I will be tagging may poems are by:
  • Genre- This is pretty much self explanatory. The genres I will be using are as follows:
    • Angst
    • Love
    • Life
    • Other
  • Relevance- Unlike many people, quite a few of my poems aren't actually relevant to my life, which is probably quite strange. But hey, I write what I write. The relevance will either be personal or non-personal.
  • Inspiration- Once again, pretty self explanatory. Whatever inspired me to write the poem. They will be labeled as one of the following:
    • My feelings/life
    • My Friends
    • Song - usually a line in the song makes me want to write something
    • Book- either the theme of the book or a certain line inspired me
    • TV- this includes both TV shows and movies. The poem would either be inspired by the theme, a line, or a character.
    • Other- things that just came to me, or stuff that doesn't fit in the above categories

The tags will be set up as such:
genre: (insert genre here)
relevance: (personal/non-personal)
inspiration: (insert inspiration here)

Also, all poems will be tagged with "poem." They will also be put in my memories under "My Poems" to make things easier to navigate for those who prefer that way as opposed to looking through all the entries. This post will also be under "My Poems" in my memories at the very top of the list.
I'll eventually get a master list of poems together, but I tend to procrastinate/forget about things.
