SO! Anyone who has let me pimp music at them knows I am a huge dork for a capella covers of songs! Which meant that I flipped when I discovered that YES, a tag for it existed over at moontube! And it is because I love it and love all of you that I decided to share whatever wonderful Vocaloid covers I found. What you see before you is the result of slowwwwwwly combing through around 80 pages of stuff. These are all decent-to-awesome arrangements of well-known tunes; HOWEVER, since I am not as awesome as Stel, most of these will not be getting commentary.
Toeto
Hato ("The Dove")
Tako Luka Maguro Fever
Morning Call
Oyasumi no Uta ("Goodnight Song")
Double Lariat
Hajimete no Oto ("First Sound")
Meltdown
Komemitsu has does a TON of a capella covers of songs; sadly, they're all shortened versions. Still really good, though! You can check out his other stuff
here.
Persona Alice
This one was previously linked in a post on Hachi-P; but since it is Just That Awesome I am pimping it again. The singer has this really cute kind of breathy voice that really goes well with the both the arrangement and the song material itself.
Saihate
MY PERSONAL FAVORITE! This cover of "Saihate" is what made me start liking the song. The arrangement is pretty simple, but the singer really makes it work. If you only listen to one song from this post, THIS IS THE ONE.
BONUS ROUND! aka Gakupo is apparently the whore for Vocaloid a capella.
I don't even... Gakupo a capellas One Winged Angel. DO I EVEN HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING ELSE.
Gakupo sings Magnet! ...With his not very genderbent self! ...Also with himself doing all of the instrumental backing! THIS IS THE ULTIMATE NARCISSISM, FOLKS. I dare you not to laugh when Gakupo's voice cracks trying to do the female bits and the higher instrumentals. This video also has him doing Romeo and Cinderella and Yami no Ou, but neither of those are as funny.
