Damn... now I'm going to have to listen to Paradichlorobenzene again.
I also was getting tired of seeing it on the rankings, mainly because it always reminds me how STUCK IN MY HEAD that song is.
I only listened to it (a lot) the week it came out before tiring of it, but the song still pops into my head whenever I walk into chemistry class.

And I remembering listening to that kous song, but I must have been in an apathetic music listening mood, because I don't remember such a nice song.

Part of the reason why I would also go 8((( at it is because of how catchy the stupid song it, but yeah, now that I've been converted... sob.

Isn't it? It's not stellar or anything, and it took me a couple of listens to really appreciate it, but it's just so nice to listen to. |D

Check out the lyrics translation done by Kanannon on YT sometime. Paradichloro is seriously a freakin' DARK song.

I did awhile ago and it kinda confused me.
What does benzene have to do with things!?
I'm sure it represents something, but I kinda lost focus after the song told me the meaning of the song is benzene and that line humored me at the time...
I should probably rewatch the translation after looking up benzene, or something....

Paradichlorobenzene is a chemical used in mothballs and pesticides, and is rather openly toxic. Benzene is one of the base molecules of the compound, and is a known toxin and carcinogen.

And actually, the whole point is that it doesn't have anything to do with things. The word is a nonsense word in the context, one that iconifies just how MEANINGLESS everything seems in said song. Remember the first verse.

I just sing without understanding what it means (Paradichlorobenzene)
So I ran off to find the answer (Paradichlorobenzene)
Even though I knew there was nothing there to find
