Sorrow makes us all children again - destroys all differences of intellect. The wisest know nothing. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

In Memoriam

I am compelled to write upon the horrifying tragedy facing my generation, where past generations once felt the grief years and years ago. Each time visiting Molly at Virginia Tech I fell in love with the campus, the town and most importantly the people. Each person I met was so dedicated to their school and had such pride. Not only having a best friend go there but realizing their once unstoppable spirit was halted by this derranged shooter, I have shed tears over and over for their despair and loss.

Working with a news station right now I have had to submerge myself with the facts, but more importantly the faces of the victims over and over. Though news coverage is meant to keep the nation informed, I thought the decision to air Cho's manifesto was un-called for and is giving him what he wanted all along, publicity. This is only going to spark other troubled individuals to act, and be able to identify with the monster. I am against this display entirely.

The bottom line is that as a college student my heart ached for VT and I wish them peace and unconditional love at this hard time.
