Ah...what a gong show!

So a quick update on my day of gong show yesterday. It was a pretty classic day. Erin and I had to go and rent two SUV's for our competition (for those who don't know my vocal group is leaving for an international competition on Tuesday). It was a full on debaucle renting the cars since we got there like 10 minutes before they closed and neither of us have enough credit limit to hold as collateral against the two cars. So Paul came down like the nice boy he is and put them against his credit. He is now the principal driver on these two cars he will never drive lol. Oh well. They are matching silver Ford Escapes (and no we did not ask for matching vehicles although it is pretty pimping!!). So yes we are ready for action on Tuesday morning. So excited.

Last night I went to hear Lotus Child play. (For those who don't know they are a kick-ass band that I recently recorded some background vocals for). Me, Erin, Alice and Katy went and to sum the night up - GONG SHOW in typical Aliqua style. The best moment, and keep in mind we weren't even drinking, was - meeting some group of guys outside between bands, somehow getting into a conversation about why we were there and that we sing, and then being cajoled into breaking into song outside the Buffalo Club on Granville Street. So the four of us rocked out a sweet a capella choir song and this huge crowd gathered. People were like beat boxing along to it and stuff. Was wicked. When we finished the crowd errupted in a cheer. The bouncers at the door were clapping and whistling and yelling "that is the most awesome thing i have ever seen" Was a pretty classic moment rocking out the choir tunes at a club. Then people kept coming up so us inside being like - hey you were outside. You're so awesome. Was a good night. I like a little street side singing.

Lots of hilarity and hijinks. Good times. We left at like 2 am and as we left we were convinced to sing another song by a crowd outside so we did and then as we were walking down the street to the car some panhandler was singing with a guitar and asked us to sing with him so we broke into some Blind Melon - No rain. Was good times. Then we got played to the car with the Cheers theme song. (Random I know.) Was some seriously good times. And the band was, as always, awesome.

Some guy gave me a rose which I have named Wilty. He is now completely dead. Poor wilty. Ah well. We sang Wilty a song last night I think. All in all, an unforgetable night. I love choir.
