I Demand of Thee, Starbucks
Ma is doing just fine, post-surgery. Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. She's a mite cantankerous, and she is having a significant Starbucks jones, but she's doin' just fine. Although the docs told her after her surgery she could go home Wednesday (utterly ridiculous!), she's staying until tomorrow.
Her nurses think she's a model patient- they just don't know her very well. She's been subversive since she came to. Her first requests were for coffee and/or ice cream, it didn't much matter. "UDF's right down the street," she pleaded. We ignored her and handed her ice chips, and then, a popsicle.
Havin' work done on or near your ticker is no joke- so I'm glad Ma's recovery is going so well. I have a feeling that she won't be able to last an entire week at home before returning to work. Thank God the doc told her no driving for four weeks, at least. She might give it two weeks before she defies orders. She's stubborn, and it drives me crazy. But I guess that's where I get it from, eh?
