Next Year's Mission Statement

2006 is the year of Living Naked-

Living Naked

Speaking Naked

Writing Naked

Loving Naked

Being Naked

Singing Naked

Performing Naked.

It is to be the year of stripping off all that’s extraneous, that hides- all defenses, protective devices. It’s about getting down to the core, the crux, the creamy gooey chocolate center- to the real. To where the nougat is, where the magma churns and bubbles. I want to, in 2006, in my 31st year, stop running from myself and get to know what it is I have endeavored to hide for so long. Was it worth it? Was it necessary? Is it helping? What’s in there?

Naked- getting naked- stripping. A process, not a destination. Live in the process- be open to the outcomes. Note the outcomes. Adjust the process. Experiment with it. Note the new outcome. See what’s there. Observe. Enjoy the process. Count it all good. Be ever wonderful. Love the life you’re with. Admit. Fess up. Tell it all- not just the parts that make you look good. Be real. Keep it real. Authentic.

Movement. Reconnect with the body- tune in to the senses. Remember the muscles, the blood and bones and tendons. Stretch., Feel the burn. Move. Touch. Taste. Smell. See. Hear. Remove one sense- heighten the others. Avoid routine- branch out. Try a different route. A different hand. Exercise the non-dominant. Invite the shadow to play. Live in the recessive place to tell the difference. Skew your point of view. Live in the place with no requirements- no boundaries, rules, or lines. Live blank on the page. Observe your slants, your scribbles. Blur the definitions of your identity-explore the corners of your id. Live naked.
