Shanghai Freakshow
And finally the halloween pics that everyone has been waiting for!!! Raino, my friend who organises the R&G parties, decided that the Halloween party was going to be a really special one with an Egyptian theme. This being Shanghai, people are not all that into dressing up, and Raino decided to take things into his own hands, by having twenty sets of Egyptian costumes and getting some of his friends to wear them.
So the guys were supposed to come to my place earlier for an orgy... to dress up... and the idea was that we would all dress up together and go down to Fabrique together, and make this really grand entrance. But when some of them saw the costumes they started having second thoughts. Some complained that it was way too cold in this weather to walk around like that, others complained that they wouldn't put on the make-up, and yet others started worrying about their less than perfect bodies... you should have seen me ROLL my eyes!
So what happened eventually? They left THIS poor Egyptian to walk down the streets almost naked, bearing his Kate Moss chicken legs, and freezing his arse off... ALONE. But this Egyptian also had a BLAST. It was one helluva Halloween, as kelufeng, dressed up as a mummy, can attest to. I had lots of fun molesting, and getting molested by this Hangzhou Nakata-look alike cutie, and other complete strangers...
Of course that lasted only till I discovered my wardrobe malfunction. Being dressed in nothing but a few pieces of cloth meant that I had nowhere to stash my mobile phone, some cash and my key but my tighty-whitie. The healthy-looking bulge came at a price. I didn't lose my phone, I didn't lose my money, but I lost my key...
Ever the optimist, I decided the heavens must be telling me to find a cute guy to go home with (maybe the Nakata lookalike?), but by the end of the night, my make-up was all wearing off, and I was looking horrid (and documented here for posterity!), so looking at the pictures now, it comes as no surprise that I had to walk back home cold, naked, and ALONE..., and had to wake my housemate, Yoko, up to open the door for me. I felt really terrible, she's this really sweet nice little Japanese girl, you know, the kind who thanks you profusely for everything, and both of you are like bowing for the entire conversation. While I wasn't expecting her to stand at the door with a "Thank you for waking me up in the middle of the night", she did greet me at the door with a big wide smile. Nice.
