Well well, I made it through my forty hour work week madness. I'll tell you, I'm not looking forward to growing up and having to do that for a living. No thank you. But I'm off for the next week and that's just absolutely beautiful.

Yesterday, Cyrinda took me to go get my belly button pierced. I just love that girl. She's so free and alive. Takes life by the horns. She's a good example to live by. Carpe diem. Heh. but anyway. I was quite scared. I sat there shitting my pants while I waited to get my belly button pierced. I almost bolted a million times. But the anticipation is the worst part. I played that fight or flight routine. And then I was in the hot seat. Ofcourse I had to get the guy with the most piercings. But despite his appearance, he was incredibly sweet and gentle. God he was nice. He even calmed me down before he pierced me. And then he stuck it to me and I was sexified. I chose a pretty little blue stone. I'm liking it.

Today, my aunt came over to go shopping with me and my mother. I showed her my piercing and she gave me a look. You know, the look you get when someone can't believe that you were brave enough to do such a thing. She told me that her daughter, my cousin Amy, did it quite sometime ago and that she had always wanted to do it. We went out shopping for shoes and underwear but all day long the conversation kept coming back to my newly decorated belly button. She kept looking at it. So I finally asked her, "Do you want a belly ring?" She said, "Yeah some day, but I have to think about it." I said, "Screw that, what better day than today? You only live once. Sure you're going to be scared, but you need to face your fears. You should do something every day that scares you." I live by this phrase. Whenever I'm afraid of something I tell myself, Mel you're fine. You only live once. You should do something every day that scares you. It always works on me and it sure as hell worked on my aunt. So, we got her pierced as well. And the best part, she is fifty-six years old. Heh. I must be quite influential. And that's all right. I'm proud of myself.

Ok, I'm out. Time to get away from this computer. Adios amigos. Katie...enjoy your time in Martinique. Cyrinda, thanks so much for bringing me. You're a blast.
