I am such a nerd. This weekend I went to Baltimore to participate in an invitational for the Honda Campus All Star Challenge. It's a quiz bowl, basically, sponsored by Honda for HBCUs. I'm on our team. Nerd, nerd, nerd. Whatever, I get free shit (including dresses!), and am the proud owner of a third place medal (sigh). We're going to Orlando in April for the nationals (the dresses are needed for some semiformal shit there, I suppose).
I abuse parenthetical statements.
I'm concerned about my biology grade, but it is hopefully nothing I can't fix. Dr. Nyormoi (yeah, I don't know either) doesn't know my name no matter how hard I try. He keeps calling me Kenya, or Miss Goines. There is a Kenya Goines in my class, and people seem to think we look alike. These things happen. But he never calls her Naadeyah. I guess Kenya is just easier to say.
Lately, I'm a lot happier with my decision to be here. What with my future plans I'm glad I don't have to worry about undergraduate debt on top of med school (assuming I make it/am smart enough/blah blah blaaaaaaaaaah). But happiness doesn't stop me from wanting to be a senior already, so I can be moving on and dreading the next four years of medical school hell. If you can't tell I'm really excited about this whole doctor thing.
Of Montreal is tomorrow!
