Sadly enough folks... we are. We are the future. I know I have heard it
from elders when I had been growing up at dinner parties and things as
such... all the adults sitting around drinking coffee looking at me and
saying to my parents "Your boy there is our future..." then they turn
to me "You know that right Chirstian?" and all I would ever really do
is smile and laugh thinking in the grand scheme of things I might make
a difference. That maybe on down that path of life I might be a doctor
or humanitarian and save someones life or an inventor and create
something magnificent that will solve some global issue and everyone
would know me for the good. But now I see that we were not raised the
same as our parents before us nor those before them. Now a days many
teenagers and young adults have been brought up the best that they
could have been but it doesn't seem enough.
The place we are at right now, my self and those who graduate with me
right now, is that of tough decisions and problems that we will all
deal with differently. Some will make the right choices and some won't,
that is a fact of life. But how we make that decision is based on how
we were brought up. I bring this up again because now a days parents
try to be the good ones and be there which they are but our generation,
dubed the "Nintendo Generation" by some, is "fuck this" and "fuck that"
and "fuck you". We are brought up knowing what morals and all that jazz
is about but it is never practiced. One way or another we are all screw
the establishment to one degree or another and we thrive on conflict.
How the fuck are we to lead the future... if all we want to do is take
the easy way out and fight with everyone for the dollar raise so we can
get spinning hub caps?
What happened to kids working jobs, not for themselves, to help the
family. I know some still do it but back when my parents were kids,
given that they are early sixties now... every kid worked to help
support the family and some at more then one job cause they had to. Now
we sit on our asses and play computer games while our parens work thier
asses off cause that mentality is beaten into thier head... either by
neccesity or their parents who beat them to get them to help out.
Alls I am saying here is everyone I have been talking to lately,
Matthew, Damien, Kelsey and others, are saying the same thing... it's
overwhelming these days and we are all scared of whats out there cause
our whole childhood we have been cradled more then previous
generations. I think Damien said it the best not even twenty minutes
ago when he asked if our parents or even thier parents felt like this.
Well I think I have said all I have to say... If I think of anything else I will edit it.
Have a nice day... Please drive through
Grad 2005 Mother fuckers...

PS: To all the grads... "What are we going to make of, not only ours, but everyone elses future?"
Felt it should be in quotes cause it's a good fucking question I
thought of!
