[Private RP between Bakura and Seto]

He was still a bit tense from their previous small altercation. Even as things seemed to be relatively ironed out between them, there remained some residual wariness on his part. It was difficult for the darker Bakura to let go of any sort of anger, and he had been rather displeased with Kaiba when they'd last ( Read more... )

He parked the car in its now-familiar spot and got out slowly. He was looking forward to seeing the entity, very much so, but he was still... just a little worried about what sort of reception he was going to get. And he was, absurdly, just a little worried about encountering the entity's host.

Not because of the latter's disapproval or anger, of course. Not even because of his obvious hurt. The boy had seen Seto unbalanced, out of control of a situation, not in charge; it was humiliating.

He pushed the thought out of his mind as he climbed the stairs. Soon, he'd hold his pet in his arms again, soon they'd fuck. Everything was going to be all right again, he was almost certain of it. Almost.

He knocked on what he hoped was the right door and waited.

When the knock on the door finally came, even though it was expected, it still made him startle a bit. But after a moment he rose to answer it, expression remaining rather even.

Looking up at Kaiba, he nodded briefly to him, only letting a little of his caution show, as if half-expecting to be immediately struck or attacked.

"Hello," he said, suddenly feeling rather subdued, which was an unfamiliar sensation. It seemed a long time ago that they had met in that hotel apartment. Everything had been simple then, compared to what things were like now. No matter how insane their arrangement was, at least then no-one else had known about it.

Ignoring the tension in the air, he bent down and pressed a careful kiss to Bakura's lips.

His tension didn't ease when he was kissed, but it became a bit more managable. Bakura was also struck with the rather surreal feeling of realizing how far things had gone, how much had changed when they'd first met.

And now their arrangment was out in the open, but it still hadn't deterred them. Despite the problems that had come up, they'd managed to work around things somehow, impossibly. He still couldn't really believe it.

He pulled away from the kiss, and let a hand curve along Bakura's cheek; the same hand and the same cheek that had connected with much more violence the last time they had been together. The thought almost made him cringe.

"Come on," he said, taking a step back and removing his hand. "Let's go, I'm keen to show you the house." He wasn't, not really, what he was keen to do was first and foremost to regain a sense of balance between them.

He still didn't speak to respond to him. The entity wasn't feeling specifically subdued, but at the same time, there was some undefinable hesitance. But he still nodded to his words, and followed after him out of the apartment, locking the door behind him.

Bakura was looking forward to seeing the house again, at any rate, even as he was more interested in the company, and hopefully some return to what passed for normalcy between them.

He ran lightly down the stairs and walked over to his car. All would be normal again when they got into the car. Or when they got to the house, at least. Or into bed.

He unlocked the car and turned to look at Bakura, smiling quickly at the boy. At his pet. His beautiful, elegant pet. It was incredible, really, that they could do this, that they had this together... If they still did, of course.

He followed after quickly, feeling eager to get to some sensation of irrational safety again. Strange that he'd found such a thing in Kaiba's presence... but he supposed the strangeness didn't really matter.

At the smile, he offered a quick grin, his look one of reflexive bemusement. He still was hardly calm enough to manage any sort of really pleasant expression.

He got into the car, opening the door for Bakura to take his seat. Absently, he turned the key and started the motor, keen to get... well, home. Home to where he could be alone with his pet, the rest of the world be damned.

"Kiss me again?" he said, his tone making it clear it was a suggestion.

Bakura slipped into the car, and made a conscious effort to relax. Everything would be fine, probably. They weren't trying to bite each other's heads off yet. Nothing would go wrong.

The question startled him more than it should have, but after a faint pause, he still leaned over, tilting his head up to meet the other boy's lips.

The kiss was light and pleasant enough, but the sense of unease was still there. Normally, he would have said Lovely pet or something like it by now, and his voice would have been warm and affectionate. Now he was rather worried that if he did, Bakura would snarl at him and not be very pet-like at all.

"Let's just get there," he said, straightening up and setting the car in motion, moving out into the street.

He couldn't help but feel a fraction disappointed when the kiss ended, though he didn't complain or give any protest. Instead he only returned to just staring out the window.

Perhaps once they arrived things would relax. Once they'd been in each other's presence long enough, it would bring reassurance that things were still as they should be.

He drove quickly and skilfully through the streets, trying to think of something to say. That wasn't normally a problem when he was with Bakura. Briefly, he considered apologising again for what had happened, but decided against it. That would be conceding far too much.

"I've spoken with the man I'm sleeping with," he said, suddenly, remembering. "He says it's all right to tell you who he is." His stomach twisted, for some reason. "It's Set."

The entity remained silent for a moment at the rather sudden declaration. He didn't look back at Kaiba, though he was tempted to, and kept his gaze focused rather steadily on the outdoors.

He wasn't quite sure whether he was more suprised or amused. Eventually amusement won out. "How narcisstic of you," was his eventual comment, spoken almost dryly.

He grunted at that. The thought had occurred to him, at least initially. But Set was Set, that was all there was to it. He wasn't Seto.

"Leaving aside the obvious rejoinder that you're hardly one to talk," he said, evenly, "I want you to understand that you must leave him alone. If you antagonise him or tease him or even approach him at all, I will have no choice but to break off my arrangement with you."

The entity wasn't one to mind being called a narcissist himself; if asked, he would've been quite open about his appreciation of his host's appearance simply because it mirrored his own. But he hadn't exactly expected Kaiba to have any sort of similar involvement with a semi-mirror.

At hearing the other's caution, he just shrugged. "I wasn't planning on approaching him. Why would I?"
