like I needed another fandom...
This is my new favourite music vid. The pairing is listed as Starbuck/Awesomeness and all I have to say is...YES. DEAR GOD, YES.
My time in the Battlestar Galactica fandom has been fairly short- I was introduced to the original series last year via some fantastic Starbuck/Apollo fanfics (of which there are painfully few, I've since found) and have only seen beyond the miniseries in the re-imagined version as of this week- but holy FRACK I love Kara. The show itself kicks almighty ass for being, at times, extremely painful to watch and not backing down from uncomfortable realities. The characters screw up, make bad decisions, hurt each other, use each other and often repeat their mistakes over and over again. I enjoy pretty well all the characters (I have so much love for Gaeta, Cally and Tyrol in particular), but I have a huge girlcrush on Kara. She is deeply messed up, damaged, self-destructive, insubordinate, reckless, strong, beautiful, and one hell of a pilot. That I latched onto her should come as no surprise, as I seem to be drawn to flawed, damaged characters who cover their insecurities with a mask of humour and cockiness (I'm looking at *you*, Dean Winchester).
Anyway, if anyone knows of any other BSG music vids of the truly fabulous variety, let me know. I'm on a kick and love recs.
In an unrelated note, the vid creator gets bonus points for knowing and referencing "Little Bunny Foo Foo" in her LJ (via her comments links). That makes me absurdly happy. XD
