To keep track of everyone:
My mom and dad are doing great, mom's working at SWWMC and dad is at Nautilus working with my friend Angie. Kate is doing very well- in school still and has worked for Fred Meyer for over a year. I can't believe how old she is getting! She was engaged, but after my parents weren't very accepting of him (for a very long time- ha ha), she broke it off. He is a loser, unemployed and trying to scam people on Ebay. Oh well, I think she's dating a really great guy now. He has a college degree and an amazing job. Played All-State basketball and is the director of the Hoops in Beaverton. Definitely a step up. J is doing security still. He works for Securitas and for Kaiser Permanente. Christina is pregnant with their second baby- due in March. Danyael turned 4 in August and is too cute for words. Other than that- same-o same-o on the WA homefront. My parents are doing a lot of landscaping and updating the house. Sometimes I wish they'd just chill out and enjoy life and not work all the time. But, that's them- always finding some sort of project.
I miss them a lot, but really like Atlanta. I am not sure what Atlanta has in store for me in the future, but so far it's been fun.
Erin and I have been seeing each other since January and things are fabulous. She is a very amazing person- we get along very well. She is moving this weekend from her apartment downtown in the city to closer to the burbs. She had mold and the landlord wasn't doing anything about it. She told them they had to let her out of her lease- and not pay all of rent for the month and they did. Well that and she revised the document the landlord wrote to NOT include being free and clear if she or Steph get sick.
I moved a few months back to a part of Atlanta called Grant Park. Cass and I still live together- in a HUGE house built in 1910. It has so much character. It is a total blast- we live with 3 other people, my best friend Tara and a couple friends Mel and Amy. Tara loves to cook and I love to eat her food.
The social scene here is pretty great, I have met some truly amazing people. I have quite a few really amazing friends. Not to mention that my whole flag football team is like my family. They are all so brilliant and unique. I think I am totally blessed to have found such a rewarding and entertaining niche.
Our season for Purple Reign (GA Women's Flag Football) starts this coming weekend and we are all very excited. After everyone's performance at the scrimmage last Sunday, I definitely see us giving everyone a run for their money. I think we're going to dominate this season. Last Thurs we all went to a football game at GA Tech against Univ of Virginia as a team for pre-season bonding. It was a lot of fun and good to get everyone together outside of the field.
Ahh. The football life. Lol.
I am still working in commercial development- as I have for the last year and 4 months. It is going well for the time being, I am getting a raise again Oct 1 and a new title. I don't like my commute much, but with Erin living closer to my work, I won't have to drive so far every day.
The drive yesterday was like 30 mins. Of course that only means I get to sleep/cuddle 15 more mins, but it means the drive is shorter. Any less time on the road, I am thankful for. The commute to her house after work should be cake too. I think from now on, on Mondays I will go to her house. Even leaving at 5:45 last night- my commute was almost an hour. Not fun, especially when after work I just want to transport myself, bc I am so tired.
So- back to Erin's new place. We moved her on Saturday- after spending forever trying to get the moving van. Luckily Steph knows boys- they did all the heavy stuff. Not to say we weren't bustin our butts, but we really were saved. I can't imagine what the game Sunday would have been like, had we moved the heavy stuff. We stayed the night at my place Saturday. To back up- we went to Redfish on Friday night with Tiff and Jess. It was a lot of fun and the atmosphere was nicer than I expected. I guess because of the location and the look of the building and such. But, it was great- though I never want to give Tiff directions again. They were really late. The appetizer was yummy chips they made at the restaurante and creole dip. I got the special- a steak with creole spices and jambalaya inspired rice something or another. Afterward, we were going to pack, but since my beeb has a sensitive tummy, we went home instead.
Sunday was the scrimmage, tacos and bed bath and beyond for a mattress pad for Erin's beddie. Then to meet Steph and clean the old place and on to the new place to spend the evening eating pizza and unpacking. To bed around 10:30 and a decent nights sleep in her new house. Up at my normal time to test the commute and get some breakfast and on to work 15 mins early. Score!
Got off at 5:45 last night for an hour commute. Home to play with Li and get some laundry done. Tara made a fabulous dinner (asian chicken/rice) and I contributed my flaky biscuits. Yum. She is one hell of a cook. Can't wait to see what this schooling does for her!
Watched Law and Order and Grey's Anatomy and to bed, but not early enough. Up at 4:30, very thirsty and itchy. Back in bed to wake the beeb for cuddles and to roll over and not get to sleep until just before the alarm went off. Snoozed 3 time and in the shower for a long one and some shaving.
To work a couple mins late and not wanting to proceed with the stacks of paper around me. Bleh.
More later :)
