FINALLY!! CSULB finally did something beneficial for the students!
This was an email sent out to CSULB students today:
Over the past month, CSULB and Long Beach Transit (LBT) have been engaged in a unique trial, one in which every student, faculty and staff member has been invited to ride LBT buses free through September. The response has been overwhelming, with double the expected number of riders making the choice to take the bus.
Because of the success of this trial, CSULB and LBT are now making bus transportation free seven days a week, 365 days a year wherever Long Beach Transit buses run. There are multiple benefits to this program, with the most obvious being the cost savings, both in terms of gas and parking fees, to those who use the U-PASS. By simply swiping your CSULB i.d. card when you first board a LBT bus, you have the ability to ride to school or work, travel to entertainment spots throughout the city, go shopping, attend a 49ers sporting event - there are many things to do in Long Beach, the U-PASS will make it easier for all of us to get there.
I especially want to thank Associated Students, Inc., for their work in making the U-PASS possible at CSULB. It’s a wonderful benefit that all of us should enjoy.

I think I picked a PERFECT time to move out! Now that the bus is free, I can take the $31 I was going to spend on the bus pass and spend it on something more important like paying off my credit card...or buying music on iTunes... :)
(This morning in Western Civ I decided to buy Motion City Soundtrack's Even If It Kills Me. I actually use to own the CD, but after my car crash (I can not believe that it has been more than a YEAR!! :S ) my cd was no more (it was stuck in the CD player and the car had no power after the crash) but it was alright because it was on my computer; well than in July - for my 21st birthday - my parents helped my buy a new laptop and I therefore had to transfer all my music - which I still have not done. SO I figured that I have extra money this month why not buy it....plus it came with bous tracks and bonus acoustic tracks!

Now I am off to take a horribly awful geography test...fun time right? :)
