ATTENTION, ALL COMIC BOOK PEOPLE! NOTORIOUS SCAM ARTIST JOSH HOOPES IS LOOKING FOR VICTIMS AGAIN!
For those who came in late -- Josh Hoopes is a longtime comic book scammer. You can read the details here. This guy is notorious, and no one is safe from his grasp. He's even gotten legit publishers like TokyoPop snared in his web.
Whenever he is detected, our Commander In Chief, Rich Johnston at Bleeding Cool, puts out the word, and us field marshals let all our fellow denizens of the trenches know so they can protect themselves. It's been quiet for a long time -- last I heard, he'd somehow convinced notorious tracer Rob Granito to enter into a comic book venture with him. That was, I think, a couple of years ago.
Anyway, past as prolog. Hoopes has returned. He's hanging out on deviantART under the handle "Scribbles007." The profile's "real" name is "Samitra Banks," and the email addy is listed as scribbles69@yahoo.com. He's been there since at least November, when another guy posted to deviantART that he got scammed, but no one made the connection at the time. You can read all about it in this dispatch from HQ.
