Is there any honesty and integrity left in the world?
The NCAA has given the death penalty (canceling sports programs) to colleges that shave points or pay players. Penn State commits grievous criminal acts and obstructs investigations, and they get to keep their precious football program. People there are still saying the NCAA has no right to punish them. They still say Joe Paterno should be excused and Jerry Sandusky was railroaded. All because they love their football.
Lance Armstrong...okay, moving on....
A racer for the US Men's Speedskating team was found to have tampered with the skates of a rival, and the coaches knew all along.
It seems like corruption is everywhere, even in places you think it would be ridiculous (remember, I see the machinery behind the scenes in the comic book field). People need to be honest because society breaks down without that integrity.
But integrity doesn't pay very well. Just look at the willing exploitation TLC does with programs like Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo and the people anxious to let the world look down on them as long as they get fame and money.
I'll write up the Veep debate tomorrow. Tonight is not the time for me to do it.
sez who? sez me!,
destroying childhood memories,
hypocrisy,
self reflection,
haven't we suffered enough,
nightmare fuel,
infernal gall,
portents of doom
