Marvel is currently running a new miniseries called Battle Scars.  Everything points to the character of Marcus Johnson as being Nick Fury's kid.  Marcus Johnson is black and the cover of the last issue shows him with an eye injury.  In other words, he looks like the Nick Fury portrayed by Sam Jackson in the Avengers movie that will be out about the same time as the last issue of Battle Scars.  So it's looking like Nick Fury Jr. is going to become Nick Fury so that people who see the movies will not be lost if they pick up the comic.

So, to review...

...the marriages of Spider-Man, Superman, and the Flash are all wiped from existence....

...but popping out kids out of wedlock anytime you need a cheap plot twist is just fine.

Anyone else think this is a bit...odd?
