That's what makes Gabriel/Sylar a tragic figure rather than just a monster, to me: he desperately wants connections with other people, but has absolutely no idea how to go about it normally.
Yeah. Gabe needed someone to hold him and tell him everything would be okay. He's such a tortured figure, which is why I'm drawn to him...
That and I also have a thing for nerds. Not to mention ZQ practically OOZES sexx, omg XD.
I read your Mylar fic, and it was really good! I went and friended your fanfic journal so I don't miss anymore of Teh Awesomeness :)
And I have a very weird relationship with the Mylar. Despite taking part in it, and agreeing that it's a plausible explanation for why the two of them kept postponing killing each other, deep down I...don't actually think either one of them is gay
Yeah. Just like deep down I don't think Sylar has *any* interest in hooking up with anyone, male or female. Gabriel, on the other hand...*g*

I keep saying I'm going to. I'm not defensive about it exactly, it's just that I have NEVER taken part in the fic world before, at all, 4 months ago I was rolling my eyes at people who said I should try it, and now I'm both reading and writing it (and have defended it to a few RL friends, and admitted I've written some as part of the defense). And I kind of went...how did I become this person, all of a sudden? Of course I have a degree in popular culture so this sort of analysis is second-nature to me...
LOL okay I'm realizing that came off as REALLY Mary Sue-ish, but yeah.
Hee! I wouldn't have said Mary Sue-ish...I think most women I know have an urge to comfort cute little geeks. And, you know, if that comforting involves the removal of clothing, that's a price we're willing to pay!

I only got into the fandom around April. I've never actively shipped before, and I never wrote fanfiction (I wrote original fiction occasionally, but I never posted anything online before). I just kind of fell into it because while there was so many really great fic out there, I couldn't find anything with Eden. So I started writing my own.
So yeah. LOL. That was long, but that's how I got into the fandom XD
