Better Nate than lever

OK belated Halloween upshot.
So;
So I took Cthulhu to work Friday(seeing as it was Take Your Slobbering Eldritch Evils To Work day). Advice from one who knows: Don't wear full costume and snake-dangling mask to a staff meeting.
So they had a H'weeny shindig in the cafeteria...
The other contractor in the lab opted to protest silently and did not go. I opted to make it impossible for them to ignore me. And I got a hell of a reaction, too. I went, and immediately got buttonholed and told "Oh, oh, you simply must enter the costume contest!" Ohhhkay :) Though, once signed up, a shrew-faced lady in a pixie costume (obviously the sprite of sourness) pulled me aside and informed me that she had seen my badge and only real Dell employees were allowed to enter the contest. I shrugged, expecting this, and smiled sweetly and told her she was absolutely right, it would be unfair competition. It was very interesting to see how much praise I got, and how (most) faces fell when they found out I was (gasp!) a contractor...
There were a few clever costumes, but really only one that impressed me. A guy from one of the labs upstairs did himself up in full face makeup and prosthetics, as a purple and blue heavy metal demon, complete with leather, body parts on chains, and long permed hair. It was a class job. If I'd gotten into the contest and lost to him, I would call it fair. I saw his badge photo, it was a hell of a change. Nice work. I was rooting for him.
So did he win? Oh hell no. Some guy in a black outfit with CDs stuck all over him won-- for originality. He's done that costume three years running. Somebody's catamite, obviously.
Have photos somewhere. I'll post them when I get a chance. Ol' slobber butt was far more durable this year than before. I got my tentacles yanked by a few people (before i could slap them, no peripheral vision) and everything held together. Next time, I'll start earlier and do a spiffy airbrush job.
After work, went trick-or-treating with Skye and the horses and the bird. A little complicated, but enjoyed trotting up and down suburban streets in my robes and bat wings. All in all, turned out well.
Then got a cold the next day. It figures.
