The only thing that's been on the TV/radio since I got here has been people talking about big horrible rainstorms such as always happen in the winter. They're all "it's the worst in years!" It started raining today and, well, I am not impressed, nature. Where's the wind? Nothing outside has even blown over yet. The houses by the beach aren't sandbagged! We still have electricity, which is usually the first thing to go (especially at my mother's house). And Sonoma County is not underwater!
Earlier today I was taunting the sky re: the storm, "is that all you've got?" and so on. I suppose now I'm gonna get a power outage.
Today I got a shiny new cell phone. Or rather, I got the not-exciting mostly-free ($50 plus tax with $50 rebate) thing. It has a camera and a speakerphone and is a flip phone, which was really all I wanted in a phone. Speakerphone volume kinda sucks, though. But, hey, the battery doesn't die. And while entering numbers I realized I couldn't contact
m_shell as I only have Philadelphia numbers for her, where she is not. Sadness.
Also today I played Boggle. My Boggle skillz have atrophied. But then there was pizza. You're all jealous of the pesto pizza with feta, red onions, and new potatoes, I'm sure. And I quite liked the Canadian bacon + pineapple + Mandarin oranges one. You'd think Mandarin orange segments would be weird on a pizza, and it is, but I think it works.
