This morning I finally got around to watching Final Fantasy: Advent Children, and it was every bit as incoherent and CGI-tastic as I could have hoped. Whee. Though keep in mind that I actually enjoyed FF: The Spirits Within, which was, you know, pretty much the same movie, except not about Cloud and Sephiroth's twue wuv. Er, rivalry. I think I liked TSW better, actually. The quiet angsty teenage-boy protagonists of FF7 and FF8 (and a lot of other RPGs) annoy the hell out of me.
Also, yesterday I watched the first two episodes of Veronica Mars. I think I like it, but so far it seems sort of uneven and stilted and not like real people, especially the dialogue. Plus Veronica's backstory is awfully angsterrific. The second episode was better than the first, so I'm willing to keep watching -- I have all of S1 anyway.
There's totally not enough female characters so far -- there's, well, Veronica, and her journalism teacher, which makes two -- but, on the plus side, there's a guy named Weevil. Weevil! I insisted on telling Jen what was going on in the episode, so I could say his name over and over. As in, "Oh no! Now Weevil has confessed to save his grandmother! But Weevil is innocent!"
I want to write something or vid something. But I dunno what. Le sigh.
