Things said while making lemon cake...

I am helping lysimache make a lemon cake. It is baking now, and I suspect the final result is going to be interesting, as illustrated by the things we were saying while making it, most of which I suspect Real Chefs would not say:

  • "Whoops."
  • "Ewww, I don't want to touch that."
  • "I think the recipe was just kidding about that."
  • "You can never have too much lemon."
  • "Most of the fun is the risk of salmonella poisoning."
  • "That was Step 3, right? Wasn't it Step 3? Um. Well, it shouldn't *really* matter, right?"
  • "I'm not going to add this flour."
  • "I don't feel like separating the eggs."
  • "Does the mixer smell like fire?"
  • "I'm done mixing now. The mixer smells like fire."
  • "Why is there an egg on the counter?"
  • "How many eggs did I put in? Did you *see* me put in four eggs? Did you?"
  • "Uh oh."
  • "Maybe it will be okay."

So now lysimache has a Mixer Of Death, to go with the Microwave Of Death (which operates while the door is open) and the Fan Of Death (which has exposed fan blades). It's the Appliances Of Death theme, you see.

Also the cake has one less egg than it should. Um. Whoops.
