What I Just Finished Reading
Nothing, but I did answer all my email and made some headway on a fic.
What I'm Reading Now
Comics Wednesday!
Doctor Strange #3: This week, Strange figures out weird medical aging problems with his magic! He has found a dude who has been possessed by a demon by a tattoo. So, y'know, he goes and wanders around the dimension the demon came from. Why does he never have backup? Backup would be good. Anyway, he takes care of the tattoo demon but the mystery of black market magic stuff deepens because the metal of the gear the demon had was rare enough that it only exists in Strange's forge.
Excalibur #5: More Braddock family drama, and Apocalypse wants Betsy to go kill and bring her something called warwolves from the London Zoo. Jubilee comes along, as does Pete Wisdom. They find the guy who owns them now (Cullen Bloodstone) and he wants to have a hunt for them. Anyway. So they do that. But it turns out their host is here to hunt mutants, oh noes.
Iron Man 2020 #2: Time for more pain! The recap page establishes that Tony is not actually drinking, he is leading the robot revolution under the name Mark One. People just think he's off drinking. Anyway, robot pirates (?) revolt, as does a robot dog and robot crash test dummies, but Arno fights them. Not sure if this is supposed to be serious, but it's dumb. Arno is working on a plan to control all AI, and his Resurrected Parents are concerned. All of Tony's friends think he's drinking and are leaving him sad messages and he can't reply. Arno is pushing out the software update that will make all AI love him forever and Tony has to stop him, which means pulling a heist and outing himself as leader of the rebellion. And we end on Tony and Arno confronting each other. I mean... it could be worse?
Marvels X #2: More of the plot. The one human kid who didn't turn into a weird monster wanders the streets looking for heroes to save him and finds Spidey and Daredevil. Okay, I guess.
X-Force #7: Ever since the injury, Domino has lost her luck and it's gone... to other people? Uh, okay, sure. (Also, Beast wants to spy on many entities including the Avengers and Stark Unlimited. Eventually Domino finds and stops the assassin with her luck? I think? Unless they're still there? It's confusing.
X-Men #6: I guess Orchis is coming back even without Mother Mold? Well, fine. And it turns out they had Mystique plant a gate flower on their suicide mission in exchange for promising they'd bring Irene back, and they make her go back and check to see if the gate worked -- which it does, but they're building Nimrod, whom she refuses to kill because no one has given her Irene. Fair. I'd be mad too.
