What I Just Finished Reading
Dessa Lux, Surrendered to the Sea: Oh boy, A/B/O werewolves again! This one with sea gods. Whoop whoop. (I think I have one more series to go.) Does the m/m profic market only accept A/B/O with werewolves because humans would be too weird, or because they just really love shifters? Or is there a secret stash of A/B/O human profic? Asking for a friend. It's me. I'm the friend.
What I'm Reading Now
Comics Wednesday!
Guardians of the Galaxy #9: Peter is trying to fight his father and stop their creepy cult that wants to drain Earth's life-energy to power up their ship. The remaining Guardians are fighting to get to them. Hi, Moondragon. Literally the only reason I am reading this book is that Moondragon and Phyla-Vell are alive in it. Anyway, Moondragon's going to Magus for help, which is how you know things are really terrible. Back on the creepy ship, the first cocoon has opened, and it's not Adam Warlock, it's... Drax. Oh boy.
History of the Marvel Universe #3: We have now reached the beginning of the modern Marvel universe in this series, as this one opens with the FF's space mission. It... has some nice art of early-canon Tony and then Steve? Illuminati retcons are in, post-Kree/Srull War. Anyway, it's all here. Death of Gwen Stacy, Nomad (whose costume is VERY BLACK if anyone was wondering), and it ends with the Phoenix Saga. The whole thing is annotated, which is nice.
House of X #5: Okay, apparently they can just grow new bodies and re-ensoul all the mutants who died on their Mother Mold mission? They can bring back ALL THEIR DEAD. Good to know! Also, what the hell? And Apocalypse just... is gonna hang out on Krakoa and be buddies now.
Tony Stark Iron Man #16: Time for Part 1 of The Ultron Agenda. Sigh. Jocasta just wants to be human, or something. Ultron shows up in the middle of the operation and thinks it's great. Tony is upset that Simon and Vision are still stuck together, although personally I'd just leave them. (I hate Wonder Man so much. I don't even know why. But I do.) Anyway, apparently Tony is totally cool with the fact that trying to unstick them is hurting Simon because... I don't know what's wrong with his sense of empathy? That's terrible. Anyway, they reason out that Ultron has taken Jan and Bethany goes to a robot bar to find Machine Man and get into a robot fight and words cannot convey how poorly this whole thing is written. Anyway, Machine Man says she's with Arno and Sunset and they go find them and then to the secret tunnels under Avengers Mansion and Rhodey is freaking out because he can't wear armor because of his PTSD (since when?) and this is weird and bad. Anyway, Hank/Ultron wants to fuse Jan and Jocasta together. Tony says Jan has always loved him best (???) and Hank is going crazier and an army of weird zombie-robots is starting to invade and Tony got Jan free but ended up in the fusion device so now he is a weird zombie-robot thing? Why am I paying money for this?
What I'm Reading Next
There's a book blurbed as "Lesbian necromancers explore a haunted gothic palace in space!" and I really want it but the ebook is FOURTEEN ENTIRE DOLLARS. Why.
