Not that your birthday is my birthday, but I read the whole Dune series, too. I remember it getting VERY WEIRD. Like complete off the charts weird. But still interesting and I finished all the books. I can't remember which titles were the most insane ones, but I remember that about the series as a whole. I mean, now, I see God Emperor of Dune, and I want to substitute DOOM. But that's, you know, current life context. :D
I am not sure if I've read something by Harold Robbins, but I want to say my mom had something by him on her shelves of novels in the basement in the house I grew up in, and eventually I had read all of what was down there, I think. Including a lot of novels that were probably NOT intended for pre-teens/young teenagers! So anyway, Harold Robbins, I think probably something by him, but can't remember any of his titles or what it might have been.
I know I've read two or three in total by Andrew M. Greeley, and I'm pretty sure The Cardinal Sins was one of them.
Len Deighton, also a very familiar name, though that title isn't. Not certain if I read something of his or not, but I feel like I have, also probably from my mom's book collection.
I think I might have at some point read something by Michener and/or Vidal, but I'm not positive on those, either. Might just be familiarity of their names and some of their titles, and seeing them at the libraries all the time. I used to go to several different libraries (one by school, two closer to the house) constantly.
And I have read a pile of Dick Francis mysteries, but am not sure if Reflex is one of them. I have no association of particular story to go with that title, but I suspect that would be the same for most of them. I enjoyed them, but at this point I don't remember any particular plots very clearly.
I used to read a LOT of books, and I do not anymore. Now it's comics and fics and I am not sure what my last regular book even was. Not sure if that's good or bad. It just is.
