Summary: Tensions are high between Steve and Tony after Steve finds out the Illuminati exist. He says a few things to Tony that he probably shouldn't have... and he doesn't say a few things to Tony that he probably should have. Then Zeke Stane murders Tony, and Steve can no longer say any of it. But there's a funny thing about superheroes: sometimes they get second chances.
So at first I thought, okay, I posted a RBB yesterday, there is no way I am going to manage to write
magicasen a birthday fic this year. Then I decided that was just excuses and I had A WHOLE EVENING and she said she wanted presumed dead and I have a presumed dead square on my Cap-IM Bingo card anyway and I've never written presumed dead before and that was clearly like the universe telling me to do it, right? Right.
I really better write the other RBB now, though.
