Hey interwebs! If you are interested in having even more shiny distractions than you already have, PopCap Games is giving away Bejeweled 2 Deluxe for free until 10:00 pm PST, which is, uh, five and a half hours from right now.
I have just downloaded it and lost a game miserably, so I can verify that it does indeed work. Mac and PC!
Also I would like to report that Diane Duane's Omnitopia Dawn is very good, as you would expect from her writing. It's SF, non-YA, about a MMO of the future, and I think it's the beginning of a new series. I think this is the first book of hers I've read in... a while... that wasn't either a media tie-in or part of, like, the Young Wizards series. Anyway. Read it.
