The only good language is a dead language.

In case anyone is interested, I believe I will possibly be requesting the Cambridge Latin Course for Yuletide. I just have to finish reading Unit 40, which is the last of the stories (saaaad), so I can find out what happens to Gaius Salvius Liberalis. Because if he doesn't get sufficiently punished for his wicked ways (yeah, yeah, that's not the translation of "scelesta," I know), I am totally requesting a fixit. (Unit 40 also contains indirect statements, which are made of fail.)

I had been going to request Babylon 5 (Ivanova/Talia), but as there are currently 21 B5 requests I'm sure someone has made it already, and there's still a few good stories with that pairing online. Whereas if I request CLC, which has to my knowledge no fanfiction other than probably the occasional student homework, then someone potentially gets to write a story about it, and I have seen how excited certain segments of fandom are about it. And no one has requested CLC yet.

Besides, I can always offer Babylon 5. The only flaw in my plan is that
lysimache, who refuses to be matched with me on the grounds that she can write me a story anytime, will then have to not offer CLC, and she nominated it because she wanted to write it. Hmm.

(This is seriously making me want to write more Roman AU. Except I still haven't figured out what should happen in the next story.)

Also, this is my shiny new icon for posting about Latin. Yes, I am aware that it is of a Greek plate. It is a youth riding a cock, which I believe I have linked to before. You're very welcome.
