Got from here:
Has more crap on Bush also... War with Iraq
Dubya had actually been planning to go after
Saddam Hussein for years. As a matter of fact, almost two years before the Pentagon/WTC attacks, George gave an interview to the BBC in November 1999 which laid out his plans for his father's antagonist during the
Gulf War:
REPORTER:
Would Saddam Hussein outlive a second President Bush?
GOVERNOR BUSH:
[Laughs] Very good question. Uh, I think the interesting thing -- [laughs] -- um, uh -- Saddam Hussein, uh -- really did last longer than anybody envisioned. He did.
REPORTER:
Including your father.
GOVERNOR BUSH:
Including my father, absolutely right.[...]My father made the right decision, though.
REPORTER:
To end the war when he did?
GOVERNOR BUSH:
Yeah, he did. For several reasons. One: the military commanders on the ground said we've accomplished our --
REPORTER:
Not all of them.
GOVERNOR BUSH:
Most of 'em. The ones that counted did. The ones that had the President's ear. I'm sure maybe there are some now trying to rewrite history. Secondly, the mission, as clearly stated by the President, was to free Kuwait. And Kuwait was free. And thirdly, the coalition that had been put together -- so adeptly by a great foreign leader, I might add -- would have fallen apart.

No one envisioned Saddam, at least at that point in history, no one envisioned him still standing. It's time to finish the task.
Aside from providing a convenient pretext, the invasion had little or nothing to do with the 9-11 attacks. Bush's motive was strictly personal. Saddam Hussein had attempted to assassinate his father. Or, as he put it: "After all, this is the guy that tried to kill my dad at one time."
at present
Now that Iraq has been conquered and everybody's forgotten about the administration's ties to the Enron scandal, life in Washington has returned to normal. Bush is spending more and more time on his ranch in Crawford while Vice President Cheney and others manage day-to-day operations.
And although Dubya is gearing up for the 2004 campaign cycle, you can bet he's spending more and more time thinking about how he's going to snag the commissioner's post in major league baseball. Now there's a job a guy could really sink his teeth into.

What the freaking hell is wrong with this man? agh. Just makes me want to barf... I never thought I would see a man who would put himself before the world and the welfare of this country.
How can somebody actually support Bush? Don't say it's because of religion. BS. Kerry is also against gay marriage, he unlike Bush isn't trying to change the CONSTIUTION because of it. Kerry isn't the person who I would pick for president, but he is surly the lesser of the two evils. Oh and by the way, any one who says that they are a Republican, and that they love the president and all his "excllence" better be able to defend it better then "religion" or "because my parents support him". It good to follow your parents, unless they are wrong. If some one can give me 1 GOOD reason, with FACTS to back up their love of President Bush, then I would Surly LOVE to see it. So far, no one has succeded to show me anything good. All they can show me is opinions, No facts. I value everyones opinions, but they will not sway my own. People. Just open your eyes, you have been so brainwashed it's not even sain anymore. War, Terrorism, it's all a bunch of Horse shit. If you want to go over their in Iraq and fight, due to the damn draft, then why don't you go and sign up for the army in the first place. Looking at the state of this country is an extream travisty. It saddens me to know that all of this shit is going on and no one cares. The all are like Bush rocks. agh. How to make you people SEE?! What about North Korea? They are actually more of a threat to us then Iraq will ever be. What about them? Why aren't we over there? killing 37,000 of their civilians? one word. OIL. nothing else. Bush you freaking son of a bitch. you with your constant shit. War on Iraq? More like war on oil, with a personal battle thrown in. agh! If Bush gets re-elected it is the first sure sign that the world is ending. I wonder if my parents will send me back to India... I can live there, I love india... agh. whatever.
