WTF! I didn't even get a farewell party when I left for one year, and not when I left 'permanently' either. Guess my parents don't care, lol.

But yeah, you'd have to find a job really quick (like, in the first week or so) if you wanted to stay after your 3 months of tourist visa... If visa procedures already take up 3~4 months, it's more likely that you'd have to leave the country first anyways if you get hired somewhere, and if you already have a retour flight to the Netherlands, it's probably easiest to just use that (instead of going to Korea instead), and then go to the Japanese embassy in the Hague for your visa. ^^; Maybe telling your mom that would calm her down a little? Free dinner sounds nice though, I'd totally accept that party anyways xD

Yeah... my mom's suffering from the "empty nest syndrome" and has a hard time coping with it... (Also because she has lot of other crap deal with due to her illness and my younger sister just bought a house too with her boyfriend....) While at the same time she keeps telling me it's about time I find my own place. xD
Either way, to me it's incredibly annoying though, because I'm not even leaving permanently!!
(Free dinner is nice, but... well, all my dinners are free... ^^;; )

Well, I don't expect to get a job in the first week,... so far I haven't found much to apply for, and I didn't receive any replies to anything I did sent... xD If I do happen to find a job though, depending on the timing (let's say it's one month into my trip), I may actually opt to go up and down to Korea. ^^ But if I find a job near the end of my stay. I'll just go home first.
