WHY!? NOT FAIR!!
It appears nice thing just can't happen without bad things ruining the mood right away. And especially (university) graduations seem to be cursed...
2 years ago, a day after my graduation was confirmed, I received a message that Brigit passed away.
Today, after Willeke's graduation, I got news that my uncle has a very rare form of cancer and it already spread to his lymp nodes and peritoneum (buikvlies) and possibly his liver.
I still hope they can do something about it, but changes are very slim... there's not much known about this form of cancer, so...
It's just really stupid... I have a whole lot of uncles and he's absolutely the one who least deserved to get an illness like this. (not that anyone deserves this, but it always appears to hit only the good people) He's really an absolutely amazing person, always pushing himself to his limits for other people. This year would have been his last year as a teacher at our local middle/high school, but now we don't expect he'll be going back anymore. (We even question if he'll make it to his early retirment...)
They are still running tests and nothing is sure, but we fear the worst.
