A letter to Megan.
Current mood:
tired
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers
MEG
I miss you more than terry-ann misses her smokes
Life. My life is.... tiring. I've become the "leader" at camp. This isn't an actual title, and I still get paid less than the life guard (who likes me) but it has it's rewards.
Not many actually. I'm trying my damndest to keep the camp running...everyone else lays around until I tell them what to do, with the exception of Kathryn.
I wish you were at camp, Megan. Or even just here, down the road. James will drive me here for cds in the week or I'll come here for my day off and I'll just look at your room and want to cry.
I did cry actuallly, the day I found your letter and realized the camp doesn't have a long distance plan.
1-506-273-2443 by the way.
Elizabeth is leading Joe on, and cut herself last night for attention. She also told some 10 year olds to shut up, and a little girl she couldn't attend the camp dance if she was dateless. Lied to the director about her dog dying, gave a 14 year old make out lessons, and ripped some four leaf clovers I found up.
I took your advice and complained, but Carol just seems too frustrated with the rest of staff to actually see Liz is the only real problem.
Last night, I was at the end of my rope, Liz was screaming WHYYYYYYYY whenever people would walk by her cabin and forcing herself to vomit, Joe seems to be very much in love with her quote "I mean, just look at her man, she's gorgeous, who wouldn't love her..."
me, as it happens but anyway,
the next disaster was a little girl named Cheltsey was taken to the hospital with breathing problems. I was sitting with all these little girls who were panicking, and they started saying how pretty I was, and how cool I was. Maggie said she'd like to have my life for just one day, and Emma said she wished she was beautiful and nice like me.
Keisha said you're almost perfect.
I told them all how beautiful they all were, and that no one was really perfect. And that, if anyone was ever mean to them, all they need do is be nice, and everything would be all right in the end.
This morning, they all left, and said they loved learning things from me, and I remembered that's what my job is about, not stupid Liz or Joe who's blinded by pheromones or Seth who hits on me all day long but won't lift a finger to help anyone else. It's not about whether the craft hall is swept or the damn dishes are done by the right person, it's about little kids who are nervous and excited about meeting friends, and are confused by life right now.
With all sincerity, I hope we can get along and I will find a way to get things done.
Please please tell me wen you're coming- you've left a bra or two, several books, random CDs....I put all of it in a circle once in a while and think of you, only you.
Love you!!!!
-Sarah May
PS Went skinny-dipping.

JUNE: A summary
Current mood:
busy
Category: Life
A large amount of events have taken place this month- so I'll go through them in point form.
June 1st, 2nd : St. John Trip with fiddlers + Megan. Not much happened out of the ordinary although there were two bathroom incidences-
Bathroom Incident #1: I walked in on an old man in the bathroom in the Imperial Theater in St. John.
Bathroom Incident #2: Megan used an out house in King's Landing that was display only (meaning it wasn't really an outhouse and there was a fully equipped bathroom with an automatic paper towel dispenser and everything next door in a building she didn't think to go in) and had an encounter with - I kid you not - a squirrel holding a nut (or something that looked like a nut- I tell her it was probably a sniper rifle).
June 9th : Final recital with all the fiddlers. So fun! (i'm such a girly girl) It was the best one yet- for my individual song I played Twist and Shout lol and after it was over the little girls I teach step dancing to gave me this ENORMOUS gift basket with seriously like 45 bucks worth of stuff in it. A subway gift card, a free movie rental, tons of candy it was awesome, I felt loved.
June 4th: Megan came to school with me. It went well except that megan thought the bus ride was scary. Then Liz asked her if she was sexually active.
June 11th- 15th: Examssssssssss.
I had five this semester. FIVE! This is how they went.
Physics
Studied: Not at all.
Exam: Easy
French History
Studied: To no end
Exam: Medium/Difficult
English
Studied: Not at all
Exam: Everything went great except for this retarded moth poem thing about whipourwills. WHO CARES.
Math
Studied: Not at all
Exam: Jace and I were the last ones in the exam room, and I left half an hour outside the time limit. Let's just say that.
Bio
Studied: A lot.
Exam: So easy. It really bugged me.
June 15th: Troy's B-day party. Brooke said quote on quote "It was the best party I've ever been to." Then we told her she must not get invited to many parties. There were halo competitions and youtube ventures.
Just KIDDING Brooke don't burn down the house!!!!
June 16th: Prom! It was very fun. It was very odd to see Troy in a tux but he looked swell (see photos) and Candice in an evening gown and Liz, the Hawaiian, and Taylor and Megan who both looked amazing and especially Tom who matched Mallory with this red chinese thing that was pretty chinese. Actually China was the predomanant theme- Logan and Pam were chinese, some chick I don't know wore a chinese dress etc.
The banquet was probably the best part because shortly after we walked out my feet started to hurt like hell and it was sooooo hot. Kudos to the entrance vehicles though. I personally liked the cement truck.
Other ppl who looked beautiful:
Michelle
Brad
Troy
Michael
Kayla
Dustin
Megan (even though she was a spectator)
Kristen
Brooke
Kathryn (even though she was somewhere else she's always spectacular!)
Patricia & Sakura
June 17th: I had an EEG in the morning so I had to stay up the entire night. Megan, Brooke and I added all our ages together and somehow Megan interpreted this to mean that we needed to make a list of 48 things to do that night/morning and do them all. This list was comprised of such events as:

45.) Make Food
46.) See who can leave pepper on their tongue the longest
47.) Step dance
48.) Do all 48 things. ... well technically 47. Again, really?
there. I've copied and pasted it all, just incase any of you ever need to be screened for epilepsy.
We sis EVERYTHING including lying on the road at 4 am with no light but one candle that I knocked over twice. And (as you might notice in the rap) we made up fake screen names and entered a lezbian chatroom where Meg and Brooke pretended to have a lover's spat until they were kicked out.
I really want to thank you two for helping me through this, and I know Kat would have been there but a series of unfortnate events took place and it just never happened. :(
The actual test sucked. A lot. I'm not gonna lie 'cause it did. I was so tired and this lady was sticking wires all over me and flashing lights, trying to induce a seizure. On the bright side, I got to fall asleep a lot that day in random places. Megan and Brooke caught some zzz's at the mall (Both of them in the food court, but Megan-I kid you not once more- fell asleep on a toilet in Sears). Kathleen is the definate toughest person because she went the whole time that day running on less than 45 mins of sleep and is peppy today.
Today: Is Tuesday, the 19th of June. Well, the 20th, 'cause it's 12:57. But today was a Tuesday, and it went quite well. I'm looking forward to the rest of summer, especially camp, and fiddlers on the tobique, and fiddle camp, and the market, and various fiddling outings, and everything else. I guess I'm a little busy, but I'm dealing with it.
THE END (for now)
PS Megan is doing the word search in the newspaper and can anyone think of a word that can be rearanged to manke the letters ficsla?
all I can think of is fiscal, wich has to do with money, but it's supposed to do with the 'calendar year'....

Maybe you're crazy...Maybe you're crazy.
Well. My brittish ppl are gone.
Goneeeeee.
And Megan has left me for two WHOLE weeks.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeekssss..
While they were here, it was great though. And all of my sisters were home, and cousins from ontario, nova scotia, BC, England and scotland all stayed for a while.
I shouldn't focus on the negative, however. I'm just glad they were here.
Today we went to Carleton North for a choral workshop- we have to sing for the retiring teachers next Thursday.
Lunch time revealed . . .interesting events.

Let's ban piczo. . . and gellatin.
Current mood:
bitchy
Evening, cyberspace.
Wow, the internet has gotten stupid. No, really. The whole e & t feud just blows my mind. I refuse to side with anyone, cause you've both made obvious mistakes. So I'll just wish you both eternal happiness and yada yada.
Moving on to some people in a different town, not too far away…
I found something really disturbing on a certain piczo site. I would never show this page to the person it offended. I cannot believe you would create something so cruel and offensive to someone who's done nothing to you.
You've no idea the pain her family has suffered, and yet you're relentless in digging the knife in deeper. Relentless! I suppose you're just one of those girls. The ones who don't have much concept of the real world. Of death or pain or suffering. Of just trying to forget horrible memories.
I'd like you to know that I don't pity you anymore. I do hope that you stop hurting her soon.
And I'd like you to know that there are far too many caring people around her for your pictures and ridiculously spelled captions to sting as much as you'd like them to.
I hope that my cousin finishes his fling you, and moves on to someone with a little more common sense and a little less hatred. You are completely the lowest of the low.
Megan's coming tomorrow! I can't even believe it. It's been 3 years! GAAA!
Bring me a BC postcard.....and.....some marshmallows if you're not to vegetarian to get them (you know...the whole gellatin animal bones thing) and we will roast them! (the marchmallows not the animal bones).

This week on Canadian Idol...
Current mood:
busy
Category: Music
So rather than comment you all, here is what happened:
We went to the auditions in the morning. There were a LOT of people there. We got registered and got numbers (YAY NUMBERS) that we had to pin to ourselves and wear at all times, and had to show ID etc. We bought water and started waiting around to audition. And then the excitement began.
This producer woman came up to us and was like, hey, wanna help us do something?
All of a sudden we're part of some comedy sketch for Canadian Idol! It was so awesome, we had to pretend we wanted advice for idol, and needed to make up a question to ask him. What should I sing, what should I wear, etc.
So my turn comes, and I was all ready I was going to ask something great. I was going to be all cool. And the camera was on. And everyone was ready. So I step forward and start running over....
In my defence: The floor was slippery and I was wearing high heels.
Long story short: I fell on national TV. So watch your screens in April for yet another of one of Sarah's clumsy moments.
Anyway, I start to ask my brilliant question (after reseating myself) and the comic guy stops me and goes "Sober Up" so I say...."Ummm thank you..." and shake his hand, and walk off.
Annnnnnyyyyyyyywaaaayyyyy.....
So we go to audition, in groups of five. It was so great- we were surrounded by so many amazing musicians. They were all playing guitar (you're allowed to bring an instrument this year, but you have to play and sing at the same time, so no violin) and everyone was an amzing singer. It made you think how much talent there is everywhere. There are people all over the world who could easily outsing the best of the celebrities.
We audioned in groups of five. I had to go first! Gah! Anyway, I sang my 'somewhere over the rainbow' and stepped back. I was followed by Kathryn (who was completely awesome) and three other equally talented girls.
But equally talented is a bit of an understatement, all four of them were good enough for TV. The adjudication wasn't that nerve-wracking or anything. We're used to that kind of stuff. The guy (who looked amazingly like Randy Jackson) told me I hand good pitch, and good tone, and a good range. But he wanted someone who would "Start to sing, and get lost in their own little world. And get me lost in it too- so I stop checking off tone and range and start thinking about them. And how I want to get to know them."
Sheesh. I was way outta my league. He told Kat it was the same deal for her (frig maybe he had his ears plugged) and ditto for the other girls, except the last girl, who he asked to sing another song.
The last thing the guy stold me was that I was young- I had time to change. I should come back next year.
Which got me thinking, how many women (and men) will come back to this thing year after year until they're 28? How many people invest time and energy into this, just to be let down?
Man, as far as I'm concerned, I was the luckiest girl out of the five- I didn't expect anything, and that's what I got.
Anyway, after finding our way back to the mall (the audition was in one of many trailors at the end of a labyrinth of corridors) I got interviewed again, and this time the girl asked me to sing. I'm pretty sure it was a local station, though, so you guys probably won't see that.
Look out for kat and I in April though, I'm wearing pink and black, and Kat's wearing all black (as usual). Look for the bunch of cheerleaders, we were behind them when they were doing something.
Thank you for all the "Good Luck's" and "Break a leg's"!!!
Next year, Kathryn Ann. Maybe you Mom was right when she said it wouldn't work out this year. You have a whole year to improve.

eggnog & idol. could some one please put me on a plane outta here?
Current mood:accomplished/aggrivated
Category: Life
Wow what a weekend.
Friday- Saw Kate!
- Recieved shocking (though not wholy unexpected) news
-Went skating with James & Brooke & Todd (actually I dragged Brooke. 2 weeks till the rink closes its doors {metaphorically speaking}
-Dashed off to the dance (half an hour late but oh well)
-Danced, took pictures, almost collapsed, with Beth, Brooke, Matt, etc.
-Slept
Saturday- Went to a party (don't be impressed- it was for an 100 year old man)
- Ran like heck to the St. Pat's fiddle thing (what crappy weather)
- Went home with Beth
- Walked up Brooke's driveway in the rain/snow to get her
-Came back, made eggnog. Yes we made eggnog. It is a tradition that shall continue. Out only issue was locating nutmeg. Our supply has dwindled. I blame Megan.
-Talked on msn, used mic to sing random voice clips of songs to random people.
-Slept (thank God)
Sunday - Woke up to see Brooke fully dressed and Bethany dead to the world.
- Church
- Yet another fiddling even at the Catholic church
-Remember that English essay is due tomorrow. Oh crap.
-Start from scratch because forgot everything at school. I even picked a new topic.
-Mess around with printer/ essay comes out in orange. Grrrr....
Yup. Come on. Tell me I have it easy. I DARE you.
This morning, Mr. Mailhiot tells me no university would even LOOK at my essay. They would throw it away, aparently.
Well gee. I tried. I tried really hard. Maybe after you read it you'll change your mind. Or maybe you'll just give me a zero over some font color, which was no fault of my own.
K....now I'm just being bitchy and stupid. Happy thoughts- got 100 on the physics test.
There. You can't say I'm pessimistic Kathryn. here-
4 days to idol!!!!!!!!

Current mood:
crazy

In general,
I'm sorry,
I'm flattered,
and it is my fault.
I live on drama (the soap- opera of life). Drama, in more formal terms, is the ups and downs (highs and lows) and overall roller coaster-ness that we go through.
So the overall lack of drama has been depressing.
love isnt finding the perfect person. it's seeing an imperfect person perfectly.
ahh how wise. I've heard enough about love lately. whatever happened to the good old days, when Annie was a disaster and teachers made me cry?
Drama, drama, drama.
Why is it, that my depression melts with the snow and slush?

Maybe I'm not in love. Maybe I'm in love with the idea of love. But that would suck even worse so I'll stick with the former. well, I doubt I'm in love...
