Proof that media (over)hype is *not* a new thing... a small documentary on some shark attacks around 1915 or 1916. A shark attack in the area of New Jersey managed to push little things like Pancho Villa raiding in Texas and the Great War (that's World War One to us) to secondary status for a few weeks.
