friendly neighbors?
We decided to give away Emily's bassinet to the neighbors. Let's face it, I'm not sure if or when I will ever be preggers again. I don't need to haul a bassinet everywhere in the mean time. So, our neighbors Dick and Jane (changed to protect the innocent) are expecting. They don't have much, and one of there cars was totaled in an accident recently. So, without hesitation we decided they should have it and we would feel better knowing it was truly being used by someone in need.
It is a touching story. Jane was in the shower when we knocked on the door. Dick answered and was speechless when we offered it. Later we found out that Jane was singing praise and worship songs in the shower and knew our gift was straight from God. We learned more about their challenges and it gave us hope that we weren't so bad off afterall.
That is where the roses and sparkles end.
Since then Jane has come up to borrow my cell phone to call Dick. Dick came up to apologize for Jane using our cell phone. Then Jane came up two days ago to ask to borrow our vacuum cleaner. Really starting to wonder what else might be requested. My first born is out of the question. I love people, I love helping others, just was taken aback by the freedom Jane has taken in requesting our belongings now.
