(not quit, just flat out walked out)
So I walk into work, fully stocked with cough drops, and having taken some dayquil to tide me over. I figure it’s going to be a typical Tuesday night. Please keep in mind, I haven’t been there for the past two days. Schedule normally goes up on Saturday nights. I hadn’t been there since Saturday afternoon. So the only thing I knew was that I worked Tuesday night. So here I come in, coughing slightly and feeling like poop, but thinking, I need money, I can manage to pull out a few tables I should be okay.
WELL WHAT DO YOU FUCKING NOW, THEY’RE HOSTING A FUND RAISER!
I get sat THREE tables as soon as I walk in, everybody is running around all over the place. I immediately get overwhelmed. My manager looks at me and is like “You think you’re gonna be okay?” and I looked at her and was like “I dont even know I didn’t know we were gonna be busy.”
My BOSS, from behind the line leans down and looks at me with the dirtiest fucking stare and goes, “DONT YOU FUCKING GIVE ME THAT YOU SAW THE SCHEDULE HAD TWO MORE PEOPLE THEN USUAL. YOU DONT TELL ME YOU FUCKING THOUGHT IT WASNT GOING TO BE BUSY! IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE HERE THEN GO THE FUCK HOME.”
1.) Hadn’t been there in the past two days, so No, I hadn’t seen the “fucking” schedule.
2.) You do NOT talk to your employees like that, I don’t care how stressed you are, but he’s lucky I didn’t just fucking say I quit right there.
I just looked over at Steph, shook my head and gave her my number to clock me out and said.
“I’m sick, I’m going the FUCK home.”
Put on my coat and walked out that back door so he could see me. No one should fucking talk that way to their employees. Especially when I never have any issues whenever I work. I have worked there for the past 2 1/2 years now. And you’re going to talk to one of your best servers that way? Oh hell no, I am out.
So I left, and am now at home sucking on cough drops like I should be getting paid for it. I hope they are overwhelmed and miserable, fucking dick can kiss my ass.
I need to start looking for a new job anyway.
