Lady's voice carried well through the empty building, compensating for the fact that the woman knew better than to get too close to Vergil - especially right away. "Really, you've got to work more on hiding your trail, I've only been looking for a day or so." The offhand harassment was doing a good job of keeping her voice from cracking into the angry, betrayed tone that she would have liked to take. It kept her from voicing more than ten years worth of hatred and blame.
It had taken her the first ten hours of her search to leave that behind so she could civilly inquire to his whereabouts. Eighteen hours spent in two cities and more seedy bars than she could count with all her fingers and toes led her to the dingy, abandoned building where she didn't doubt Vergil had spent the night.
