Cat Scratch Fever

Finally we are getting some good weather as my favorite season progresses. That would be the mating season, closely corresponding with springtime. I witnessed an interesting event today that I felt I had to write about. My only co-habitant, Tawny the cat, was caught playing footsie with my tenant’s male cat. Tawny had previously shown only an attraction to small male dogs, and has been known to attack any feline (male or female) within striking range. Maybe she is softening up a bit, or getting a bit older, or maybe lonely because I have not been able to spend much time home with my current job. Maybe it could just be the warmer weather or maybe it really has something to do with the season. Both my cat and my tenant's are fixed, so there is no chance of them reproducing, unless the vets' work was horribly negligent. How amusing to see the change in behavior, being Tawny would normally hiss at the male cat as she made her way past the hallway door to travel to and from her favorite scratching area (that being the back driveway). Change can be good, I guess. This has really got me thinking.
