Back to work again

Getting ready for another night at work. Hoping that it will be a quiet one. Had some interesting moments last night, even a bit funny at time. I wish I could view a copy of the surveillance tape taken when I escorted a trio of drunks from Holiday Inn to Motel 6 to spend the night. The night manager immediately called the Strongsville cops and had them removed before they even checked in. Was told the tape recorded some really interesting scenes on it.

Even though I am working a third shift security job, I am still interviewing for engineering positions. Had one last Friday, then another one with a different company on Monday. No offers yet, but at least I am starting the see the frequency of interviews pick up. Up until now, they were very few and far between.

My perpetually sick immediate family is a bit better for the moment. Some problems with my first cousins though. My cousin Matt, exactly six years older than me, is suffering from the final stages of alcoholism. I was told his pancreas has shut down and he is getting frequent seizures because of this. My aunt had said his life expectancy is now less than six months. My other cousin, Marsha, is suffering from some severe consequences of alcohol and other substance abuse, although I belief her physical health is still good. Marsha is Matt's sister, a few years older than me, but I can't recall her exact birth date at the moment.

At a local coffee shop I overheard that my cousin-in-law did an excellent lead story at a local AA meeting. One of the things on my to-do list is to send her an email and ask when she may be doing another one in the area. Apparently she has been very active in the program for a number of years. I never realized how active and have kept most conversations to dive stories on the few occasions I have had a chance to chat with her.

Must shuffle some paper now, grab a bit to eat, then head off for another night of work.
