An ax to grind

One of those days that I should have stayed in bed all day. Instead, I got up early and took some grass seed over to my mom's place to sow before the rain started falling again. Afterwards, I started going through some of the many boxes stacked in my dad's bedroom closet to help my mom clean out the place. We had known for years that my dad had squandered much of his money in the past. Just finding out now where some of it was spent. Some of the boxes marked sweaters, clothing, blankets, etc., did indeed have these items placed in the top of the boxes. What was found in the bottom of those boxes was quite a surprise. Proof sets of U.S. coins in fancy display cases and binders full of first day issue stamps were among some of the finds. Seems most of the items were purchased ten to fifteen years ago. Neat purchases! You were planning on sharing these with the rest of the family sometime before you died, weren't you Dad? What are we to do with these items? That will have to be decided a bit later. I have no clue as to what they are worth. They remain at her house for now.

I did haul back a stack of woodworking books and magazines measuring over fourteen inches high. My mom wanted to place them curbside. Guess I'll store them next to the four chain saws, three pruning saws, three long handle axes, plus the assortment of hatchets, splitting wedges, and sawhorses. Anyone need firewood? Wait a minute; I don't even have a single tree in my yard.

Going to sleep tonight with more questions than answers.
