The weekend wrap-up

Another week gone by. A few notable events. Had a little money come in, and out, then back in again. My 2003 city income tax refund check finally arrived. Endorsed it and deposited it in the bank's ATM machine. Two days later, a form letter arrived from my bank, and along with the letter was my income tax check. Turns out that I didn't notice the lack of a signature in the bottom right on the top side of the check. There wasn't even a line there for it, so it was easy to miss. So it turns out that the city wrote me a bad check by not signing off on it, hence the bank returned it to me and charged me a $15 returned check fee for it. I ended up calling CCA, who handles Cleveland's income tax collection and includes their company's name on the check. They said it wasn't their problem, and gave me the city treasurer's number. So I called there and they said I either had to bring it in or mail it in. To avoid the potentially long mail delay to get this straighted out I drove downtown to the treasurer's office, and they reprinted me a new check and stamped it with two signatures. Unfortunately, the retards that work there could not say whether or not they would pay for the returned check charge. Apparently, the only dude that could make that decision, Algeron A. Walker (the city treasurer), is on vacation till this coming Tuesday. Oddly, his name is one of the two stamped on the new check. Afterwards, I ran the check to the back and personally gave it to a teller instead of dropping in the ATM machine, and they accepted it. Half a day wasted getting the run around, and it is still not completely resolved yet.

The remainder of the week was better. My sister was released from the Laurelwood facility. She doesn't seem much different, but they got her on some different meds, so only time will tell how well things shake out.

Had a good time at aventurine's place on Friday watching the pay per view fight.

The remainder of the weekend was spent working around my place. Finished painting the garage front. Time to start painting the front porch. Both levels of the balcony need work. May have to do a complete tear off of the lower balcony walkway. The upper balcony structure looks O.K.

Still need a full time job. Hopefully some of the leads I have gotten so far will pan out. Time to get off this computer and back to work finding work.
