The more I learn about Stéphane Lambiel, the more I love him. I love how happy he looks whenever he is on the ice, the sense of joy is palpable. I honestly can (and have) watched his programs for hours - obviously, my favorites tend to exhibition/performance programs rather than competition ones due to the lyrical freedom they're allowed. He is very graceful yet powerful, mesmerizing to watch. I honestly think he has some of the best spins I've ever seen - so fluid and fast. He's a joy to watch even when he makes a mistake or falls, as he just picks himself up and carries on, 100% in the moment. So never fear, my LOVE and heart eyes aren't going away anytime soon. LOL
Obviously, Evan Lysacek is a fantatic skater; he did win the Olympic Gold afterall. No matter how technically great his programs are, he usually leaves me feeling cold and just not that interested. This was not the case with his Stars on Ice program the other day set to MJ's "Man in the Mirror". It's a very emotional song (at least for me) but even watching the performance on mute, I felt a very strong connection to Evan's program that is usually lacking. I thought he had great energy (see around 1:40) and I have my fingers crossed for more skates like this from him.
