armpit tales
oh my god it feels like ages since i've updated. but now, finally, we are living in the 21st century with all the rest of you lot. we've got our brand spankin new computer, broadband and cable tv. ok so its just the basic cable tv but it is a huge improvement from the 5 measily channesl we had. so i'm sure now i will tuck myself nerdily back into the internet world.
i think i mentioned my crazy finger infection saga last month...well last week i got another infection this time in my armpit (of all places). I didnt have to have surgery in the operatiing room (or the theatre as they call it here, hehe) but instead I went for the 'brave' option, and had it sliced open, scooped out and packed with iodine soaked gauze all while awake and fully FULLY aware of it. Looking back I should have chosen to go under the general anesthetic but after sitting in the waiting room for 4 hours I could not imagine going home with that thing under my arm and having to endure 24 hours more of the pain. oh but little did i know! anyway it was probably the worst pain i've experienced up to now in life. oh wait actually, the next day, when i had to come back for them to take out the packing, THAT was the worst pain ive ever felt. I think the fact that I knew what was coming made me even more anxious, making it hurt even more. I kept apologising to the doc for my crying. He was so nice though, telling me how he would cry too if it was him. haha. anyway, besides stupid medical drama, everything is ok. its freezing here today and i wish i had a nicer winter hat. I do have a lovely one i got in prague which is very warm and european princess looking but i am afriad people will call me sheephead or something because it does resemble a sheep in ways.
i was in london this past weekend for this interview. it wasnt for a job but a mentoring initiative that the UK film council is doing. I think I babbled a lot but think i answered some of the questions well. Maybe I should have prepared more but eh, if i get i i will be really happy but if not i will be ok. they are suppose to call next week. london was cool, i had a good walk around while killing time before and after the interview. i was by myself though and that was sort of a drag. anyway i'm back there in january to oversee the screening of the film festival programme we are 'touring' so i hope to do more exploring then (with danny in tow)
