ah finally. over the holidays i really didnt have interent accesss so much and while i know that that is a good thing because it allows me to do real life things like begin reading vanity fair (got it in a thrift store and no not because of that reese witherspoon movie but because it was only 50p) and exercise but still, when i don't get to check my email and wander aimlessly on myspace I start to get all tense and develop a tick in my left eye (not really but you know what i mean). its afwful but hey thats modern living for you i suppose.
Last week I came back to my dullsville temp job and while i actually had to do work and couldnt really use the net, it was actually kind of nice and calm and i didnt mind it so much. today on the other hand i am back in the other office where the painfully annoying and geeked out student union kids are. the guy who is president is a total reject and i can't even talk to him because he is that frustrating to have a constructive conversation with. plus he talks really loud and uses the word 'jeepers'. i mean what is that?hes only like 19 or something. he must have a strange homelife. i shudder to think.
yesterday me and my icelandic warrior friend yrsa (shes not actually a warrior but shes extremely tall and with that accent she can be very intimidating to the public) went to Harvey Nichols, the only good department store in Edinburgh. It is filled with everything my materialistic half could ever dream of. its got all the makeup,lotions and potions i could ever want plus all the clothes i cold want (more or less). the great thing about january in the UK is the sales, basically the only worthwile time to shop for clothes in this country. Of course both of us are broke until payday on friday but we wernt to eye up the goods and try stuff on. I tried on this pretty pretty Chloe skirt for springtime. it was sort of country club in connecticut but in a very cool way. Plus it was on the cheap (relatively speaking!). of course with my luck it will be gone come friday but it will at least get me through the week by daydreaming. there was also a v. nice stella mcartney tank top (really thin knit whic i luuurve) and that was ridiculously cheap too! i didnt mean to find myself in a mcartney-philo whrilpool but there i was. yrsa tried on all these dries van noten clothes that on me would look ridiculous but on her were great. old man cardigans and wide pleated pants.
in other news, my mom is coming here on the 20th which i am very happy about. i hope she likes it here and we have fun. i th ink we will head donw to wales too because i have never been and dannys sister is all about having us visit.
