DropBox has upgrades available if you need more space, but considering this is 2GB *free* and I previously had *no* online storage at all it seems like a really good deal to me - especially how seemless it is to install, sync & share files with others.
I also like that they support Win, Mac, Linux and the iPhone. If they supported Symbian & WinMobile they could expand their potential user base even further.
$100/year for unlimited space through LiveDrive is good if you have the money & those storage needs.
I'm on Verizon Fios with a stated 15Mbps/5Mbps plan...however, Speakeasy tests reguarly clock me at 20/15...probably average around 15/10, though. Never really clocked downloads from LiveDrive as I generally dump stuff on there for storage & already have what I need on my local box. It's a threaded upload system that can fluctuate, but is generally anywhere from 900KB/s to 2000KB/s. Lately I've been uploading all my archived DVD's ripped to ISO with average size of 5GB-8GB & the system indicates I'm getting an average of 1200KB/s up speed. Couldn't really tell you the real world upload time as I just dump a bunch of files and let it go then add more as the cache runs out.
Yep, still in Plano...having a Halloween costume/house party Oct 24 if you'd like to come.
