Hi...Harry? My name's Jordan Cavanaugh. I live and work in Boston, Massachusetts. I just wanted to say that I may not 100% get exactly what you're going through, but I understand the pressure you feel when you know that friends would do just about anything for you. I've got one, Nigel, who was almost willing to go to jail rather than tell the District Attorney (a lawyer) what he knew about my half-brother and his possible involvement in a murder or two. And then there's my...friend I guess is the best way to put it right now...hoyt_woodrow actually killed a man to save me. Yeah...that's a tough one to get off your conscience. Anyway...I don't know if you want to talk with a...what is it you say ~ muggle?...like me, but if you ever do, I'm here, ok?

I don't mind Muggles at all. Some of my best friends are Muggle-born, or at least half-Muggle.

Our situations aren't exactly the same, no. But close enough, in parts. How do you...deal with it?

Hmmm...good question. Honestly? I usually run. I don't get close to people easily...my mother was murdered when I was 10. I ran into the living room and saw her lying on the floor, her blood everywhere. So I don't trust easily. (Oh...did you know your mother's been posting on here? I talked with her briefly one day... I'm sorry if I just brought up bad memories...I didn't mean to...) If people get too close I freak out...and run. But I'm trying to be better about it. I wrote Woody a long letter in an entry today. He said he wished he was with me...but now he's trying to find a couch to stay on at the police station where he works... So I don't know...I know running doesn't solve anything. And now I'm not sure that being open does either.

Have you found anything that seems to work?

Mostly Silencing Charms at night. I...obviously not. I wish I could run, but then Voldemort would just concentrate on killing people freely instead of mostly focusing on taking me out.

I think having friends is good...if you don't have to worry about them constantly. They can be really great. grangerh is one of my best friends. I don't know what I'd do without her...when I think about what could happen to her because we're friends, I get sick. redhead_keeper is another of my closest friends...it's worse, because his entire family is a target.

I mean, I'm not stupid, I know his mum and dad wouldn't let Voldemort come back without fighting it, but...the idea that he's singled them out especially...

A few of my other friends, Neville and Ginny, have already been hurt by Voldemort once...

I wish I had an answer.
