christmas was too busy to find time to do any "looking back on 2006" type things, so you get it now-
1) Where did you begin 2006?
at caley g's. he makes fucking strong martinis. tony robbins was there. mike in red pants and a tuxedo shirt was there. my balance was not. it was lovely.....it was like the starting point towards becoming "me" again. then we went to alek's loft party dealie and dance dance dance danced.
2) What was your status by Valentine's Day?
sexed up. now that i've alienated 80% of you, i'll continue. obviously still with michael. spent valentine's day reading the paper and listening to an "italian love songs" record with toby and robyn. then robyn and i made the gayest collages in the artroom for the boys while they worked and we enjoyed joblessness. it was the most love-filled valentine's day ever.
3) Were you in school (anytime this year)?
not only IN school after already getting a degree, but changed my major...again.
5) Did you have to go to the hospital?
if mike was a superhero, his weakness would be kidney stones. we camped out with maxim magazines we borrowed from dave, and then sat there half the night.
6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
the night we got jumped for our beer (on the corner of river & osborne at 8:30pm on a thursday) the cops came to our house to take our statements. then those cops got shot on jubilee and the cops taking our statements ran out of our apartment. the cops at our house were nice, but i still don't like cops. before they arrived we ran around throwing various bongs in various corners before they got there......ah, such a waste of time.
7) Where did you go on holiday?
montreal for a week for film pop. i moved twice in '06, not a lot of money to travel. this year i'm hopefully going to LA in 2 months, and (possibly) luxembourg/belgium this summer.
8) What did you purchase that was over £500?
the very sexi macbook pro with intel core 2 duo that i'm currently using. it is by far the most expensive thing i've ever purchased.
9) Did you know anybody who got married?
no, probably for the first year ever.
10) Did you know anybody who passed away?
no. yay!
11) Have you run into anybody you left high school with?
i ran into my friend katie from highschool at the fringe festival. and she's dating a friend of mike's...bizarre.
12) Did you move anywhere?
to sweet sweet beverley, then out of sinking ship beverley after 5 months, then we lived between 3 houses for a couple of weeks, and then moved into inside toast (as an homage to outside joke, the apartment is named for the dark crust brown, the medium bread brown, and the golden butter coloured walls) and have been there ever since (7 months...woo!).
13) What sporting events did you go to?
none. i try to cut them out of my life like malls.
14) What concerts/shows did you go to?
wolf parade- shittiest. show. ever. full of hipsters i've never seen before. how could i have never seen them before in winnipeg?
sunset rubdown- once in winnipeg, once in montreal, both good times.
dr octagon- in montreal, on kool keith's fucking birthday, at les saints showbar, which is rich and classy in the dirtiest way possible.
ninja highschool- best show ever. ties with letigre and converge as the best show ever. 35 people there. all screaming and dancing. had "saussure" written on my knuckles. was probably the only one there who knows what semiotics is.
you say party! we say die!/dragon dragon dragon/dadadada: lazers- stayed at beverley. was a fucking fun show. with an extremely irritating afterparty.
noot/glass candy- at zoobizarre in montreal. noot's singer is the hottest 5'2" boy i've ever met.

everyone paid way more attention to the fact it was my birthday than i expected. we danced. we got fucked up. i missed robo. we made breakfast sandwiches the next day. i taught two boys how to stretch out their dance legs.

changed my life for the better myself.

beverley house members. when i first started staying there there was a bottle of rum in the shampoo holder.
