Tumblr/Simblr?

I don't really want to use Tumblr, per se... but I keep hearing that a lot of Simmers are over there now.

What's the advantage of using it over livejournal or dreamwidth? Is it even possible to do long posts of over 50 pictures? Can you cross-post from Tumblr over to livejournal?

So many questions, I know.... I'm just curious about how Simmers are "using" Tumblr. Or "simblr."
